Engagement in the City

I recently shot an engagement session in the city. By recent, I mean two days ago and by the city I mean San Francisco ;) A friend/co-worker of mine in leaving Cali and just got engaged. So what better way to say we'll miss you and good luck, then the gift of an engagement session.
We started our venture at Market street and ended it around Baker's Beach by the Golden gate bridge. Being the bad Californian that I am, I had never been there before. I only have technically crossed the Golden Gate once and purely by accident.
The sites there were breath taking and not just because we had to hike along side a cliff. I kept wishing that Rob could have been there, but me and my sobby heart shot on.
Although the hike was a pain, it was really all worth it. The sun was setting low and casting this beautiful color along the water and beach. When I see things like that, it just sets my mind at ease. Its quite soothing; I recommend that everyone make there way down there during sun set at least once in their lives. Its something you wouldn't want to miss.

Sue and Brent

I recently photographed an engagement session for my best friend and her fiance. Love shoots like these because they're so much more laid back. I know the couple and it makes capturing their emotions and reactions so much more natural. I think they balance each other so well and you can see this in the images. For example, the photo to the left. Sue starts laughing and Brent matches that with a soft smile. I particularly like images like this that tell a story.

Its images like this that remind me why I starting photographing in the first place. People that have never met them, will know a little about their personalities just by looking at the image. I love that about photography. A whole story told in one image. And years from now, they'll be able to look back at these pictures and remember that time they went to the park. Now I'm getting too sentimental...enjoy the images :)

Tara and Ralphie

Tara and Ralphie were a fun couple. Shot most of the wedding at the Wedgewood in Pittsburg. Tara was just absolutely beautiful, which just makes it easy shooting for me and Ralphie had such a great personality. It was too wet outside so they had the ceremony inside, but we were able to get some gorgeous portraits outside.

Portraits for my parents

I was recently commissioned by my father to do some portraits of him and my mother for Mother's day. For family, I always feel like I have to one up myself. They see my work all the time and I want them to feel, like any of my clients, that they are getting something special. The unfortunate part was that I have to do these portraits with out my mom thinking they were for Mothers day and I had three days to put them together. Wonderful. On top of that I've been feeling a bit under the weather.

My parents really brought it to the table this last Friday and despite my sluggish mood, we got some great photos. I love the interaction between the two of them. I think my mom likes to hide her nervousness in laughter ~Wonder where I get it from ;)

Sofia and Chris

I had a great time photographing Sofia and Chris's wedding. We were given a big chunk of time to do portraits so we went down to the El Campanil Theater in down town Antioch. Here are some of the great shots I got from inside the Theater.

Quite a beautiful couple. They compliment each other so well. I think I was able to really capture their personalities and all the emotion that they put forth. Everyone had a great time and you can see the excitement in the photos.
